APPENDICITIS IS FATAL TO WILLIAM KLANN, COUNTY MAN
Infection from a ruptured appendix last night proved fatal to William Klann, 69, who died at the Holy Family hospital after being a patient there for about four weeks. In an effort to save his life, an operation was resorted to on August 26, but the appendix had already burst and the operation proved to be fruitless. Funeral arrangements have not been completed and details regarding Mr. Klann could not be secured this morning but will be published tomorrow. He resided about four miles southwest of Reedsville.

Prosperous Rockland Farmer Dies At Holy Family Hospital William Klann, a prosperous farmer residing on a farm about four miles southwest of Reedsville died at the Holy Family hospital Tuesday night after an illness of several weeks. Mr. Klann was born in Germany October 7, 1858 and came to this county with his parents in 1863 settling on a farm in Rockland, in 1884 he was married to Minnie Buboltz who with thirteen children, eight boys and five girls are left to mourn his death. Mr. Klann was a prominent member of the Reedsville Lutheran church and will be buried from that church Saturday afternoon at 1:30 pm, Rev. H. Koch officiating. Interment will be in the Lutheran cemetery south of the village. The deceased took an active part in all farm organizations and was the owner of several large farms near his
home.
