Mrs. Henry G. (Mabel) Behnke, Sr., 85, of Shady Lane Home, Manitowoc, formerly of Reedsville, died Sunday morning in Manitowoc. Funeral services will be at St. John-St. James Lutheran church in Reedsville, the Rev. Harlyn Kuschel officiating. Burial will be in the West Side Church Cemetery, Reedsville.
Mrs. Behnke was born Aug. 30, 1899, in Collins, daughter of the late John and Louise Wagner Pollack. She was married Sept. 17, 1919, in St. Peter Lutheran church, Collins, to Henry G. Behnke. Mr. and Mrs. Behnke celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in 1979. He died Jan. 30, 1982. Mrs. Behnke was a member of the Ladies Aid Society for many years.
Survivors are four sons and daughters-in-law, LeRoy and Elizabeth of Manitowoc, Lem and LaVerne of Manitowoc; Orval and Ruth of Kewaskum; and Henry Jr. and Doris of Reedsville; six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Minnie born of Collins. She was preceded in death by a brother, William.
