Beatrice C. Abel, 74, of Fredericksburg, died Thursday, August 28, 2008 at Mary Washington Hospital.

Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Richard E. Abel, Sr.; her four children, Sherry Wigglesworth, Brenda Rivera, Richard E. "Dickie" Abel, Jr. and Thomas W. "Skeeter" Abel; her two sisters, Dorothy Mae Cooper and Sylvia Sullivan; her five grandchildren, Jennifer Tutor, Kimberly Smith, Richard "Pete" Abel III, John Abel and Pamela "Sissy" Abel; and her great-granddaughter, Emily Potter.

A service will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, September 2 at Covenant Funeral Service, Stafford Chapel with the Pastor Brent Vickery officiating. Interment will follow at Stafford Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be James Raines, Jeffrey Sullivan, Linwood Knight, Jr., Robbie Knight, Dale Gallimore and Richard "Pete" Abel III.

The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Monday, September 1 at the funeral home.
