J.P. Conover, 79 years of age, well-known farmer of the Gentry's Mill community, died at 11 o'clock Saturday morning after having been ill for the past six years.

The deceased was born and reared in the community where he made his home. He married Miss May Williams of Montpelier, March 31, 1901, and they had five children, two of whom died a number of years ago. He united with the White Oak Baptist Church at an early age and was an active member as long as his health would permit.

He is survived by his wife, three sons, Joe, Marvin, and Elbert Conover; three sisters, Mrs. J.L. Bailey, Misses Ida and Alice Conover, and three brothers, E.N. Conover, B.H. Conover, and R.E. Conover.

Funeral services and burial were held at Freedom Church at 1:30 Sunday afternoon conducted by Rev. Isaac Ingram, assisted by Rev. June Kimbler.
