He was first married to Pearlie Mae Grider, and to this union six children were born. His wife and three children preceded him to the grave, and in 1958 he was married to Mrs. Lettie Womack, who surivives.
Also surviving are three daughters -- Mrs. Maude Powell and Mrs. Myrtle Grider, both of Columbia, Ky., and Mrs. Evelyn Carter of Russell Springs. He also leaves two stepchildren, Walter Womack and Mrs. Evelyn Wilson, both of Russell Springs.
He is survived by 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, and by a brother, R.E. Conover, and three sisters, Ida Conover, Alice Conover, and Mrs. Cora Bailey, all of Russell Springs.
Mr. Conover was a member of the White Oak Baptist Church, and was also a Master Mason with Hood Lodge No. 839, Adair county.
The funeral was held in the Bethlehem Separate Baptist Church near the Russell-Adair line, and was conducted by Bro. James Porter. Music was by the Clarence Coffey Quartet, and he was honored with Masonic rites at the grave, with fellow Masons acting as pallbearers.
Burial was in the Bethlehem Church Cemetery, with Rippetoe Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
