Funeral services for Mrs. Edgar Eddy were held on Thursday, July 20th, 1961 at 2 pm from Our Saviours Lutheran Church at Nelson, MN, Rev. David Helgen officiating. Interment was in the Nelson cemetery. The pallbearers were Lester Jensen, Lester Hovland, Darwin Anderson, Lloyd Sather, Herman Sorenson, and Glen Sorenson. Leighton Knudson, accompanied by Mrs. Reuben Bolin, sang "Beautiful Savior" and "The Old Rugged Cross". Ida Jeanette Eddy was born in Fillmore County, MN, on Jan 27, 1885, daughter of Thomas and Christine Anderson. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Henrytown Lutheran church in Fillmore County. On June 26th, 1901 she was united in marriage to Edgar P Eddy. After their marriage Mr and Mrs. Eddy farmed in Fillmore County until November 1919 when they came to the Nelson community. In 1948, Mr. and Mrs. Eddy retired from active farming and for the past thirteen years have made their home in the Village of Nelson. for the past 42 years, Mr. and Mrs. Eddy have been members of Our Saviours Lutheran Church of Nelson. Ms. Eddy was an active member of the Ladies Aid. On June 26th of this year, Mr. and Mrs. Eddy celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. Mrs. Eddy passed away Sunday, July 16th a her home in Nelson, at the age of 76 years, 5 months, and 19 days. Surviving her are her husband and seven children: Warren of Englewood, CA; Byron of Pasadena, CA, Lyle of Garfield; Doris (Mrs. Hobart Spicer) of Hayward, CA; Nora (Mrs. Everett Vickerman) of Forada; Willard of Concod, CA; and Marvin of Nelson. She is also survived by 20 grandchildren and six great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Julia Sauers of Monticello, CA; two brothers, James Anderson of Hill City; and Ernest of St. Paul. She was preceded in death by three children, two brothers and one sister.
