Alexander Volk, employed in a logging camp of the Cross Lake Logging Co. at Cross Lake, was killed by a falling tree on Saturday last. Volk was engaged in felling the tree, and before he could get out of the way was struck on the head by a limb and his skull fractured. He lived only about half an hour. The unfortunate man was 44 years of age and leaves a widow and several children. The funeral took place at Pequot on Tuesday.
