Daughter of George Frederick and Agnes Belle (Huling) Stainbrook. Both of their families settled in Pennsylvania in the mid-1700s. The family moved to Lee Co., Illinois in 1854. Married Walter L. Green in 1857. In 1880 Almedia and Walter were living in Tonica, LaSalle Co., Illinois with their eight children: Orange/1858, William/1860, Ida/1862, Ernest/1864, Harry/1868, Carrie/1868, Freddie/1876, Libbie/1878. Sometime before 1900 they moved to Storm Lake, Buena Vista Co., Iowa where they remained for the rest of their lives.

Almeda died intestate and her estate was handled by a court appointed administrator. Her estate consisted of a house appraised at $800. which didn't fully cover the claims on her estate. The property sold at public auction for $915. cash.

Four children survived her. Two sons, Orange R. Green of DesMoine, Iowa, and Harry Green of Storm Lake. Two daughters, Carrie Teeman of Chicago, Illinois and Lydia Low of Minneapolis, Minnesota.

She was buried on 15 September 1923 in Storm Lake Cemetery presumably next to her husband. the graves are not marked with a stone memorial.
