Obituary for John Barrett :
Funeral services for John Barrett, 74, of 410 W. Washington, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Clugston Funeral Home. The Rev. Ernest Louderman will officiate. Burial will be in Camp Creek Cemetery.
Mr. Barrett died about 11:15 Thursday morning at the Phelps Hospital where he had been a patient since last Friday.
He was born March 1, 1888 at Humboldt, Kansas to Arthur and Lydia Ann Hess Barrett.
He moved to Illinois at the age of 2 and had spent most of his lifetime in Schuyler and McDonough Counties.
He was a retired barber.
His first marriage was to Willia Martin June 12, 1916. She is deceased.
To this marriage were born three children :
Eleanor
Elmer Ralph
Olive
On November 25, 1937 he married Mrs. Nell Louderman Pollock. She survives.
Also surviving are three children, Mrs. Eleanor Shirrel and Mrs. Olive Coker, both of Macomb ; three step children, Herbert Pollock and Mrs. Pauline Foxall, both of Macomb and Carl Pollock of Spokane, Wash. ; nine grandchildren ; five step - grandchildren ; five brothers, Enos, Lewis, and Arthur Barrett all of Yelm, Wash., Henry Barrett of Colchester, and Albert Barrett of LaHarpe and three sisters, Mrs. Ethyl Johnson, and Mrs. Minnie Beckham, both of Spokane and Mrs. Carolyn Curtis of Macomb.
A son, Elmer, a brother, Charles and two sisters, Mrs. Cora Butterfield and Mrs. Mary Plank and three infant brothers and sisters are deceased.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 6 p.m. today. The family will meet with friends there from 7 to 9 Saturday evening.
