Final rites for George B. Sammons, retired farmer, were held on Friday, Oct. 9 at First Baptist Church.
Mr. Sammons sufferd a heart attack on Wednesday, Oct. 7, while picking cotton. A native of Tennessee, his parents were John Sammons and Susie Jolly Sammons. He was married to Mattie Ritchey and to this union 8 children were born. He spent most of his life in Hunt County and lived in this city for the past 20 years.
Survived by: wife, sons Chester, G.C, and Doyle Sammons; daughters Mrs. L.A. Thomason, Mrs. Miles Thomason, Mrs. A.L. Smith, Mrs. Weldon Scott and Mrs. F.M. Howard; sisters Miss Birdie Sammons, Miss Mary Sammons and Mrs. Charlie Jacobs. Twelve grandchildren and one great grandchild.
