Thelma was employed at L.B. Manufacturing in Iberia. She was a life member of the D.A.V. Auxiliary in Waynesville, Iberia VFW Ladies Auxiliary, and was a member of Iberia Church of Christ. Thelma loved to sew and make quilts for her family and friends.
She is survived by three daughters, Nadine McCrite of Fairmount, Indiana, Nancy Brown and husband Lee of Crocker, and Nora Ann Whittle of Anchorage, Alaska, one son, Clyde Wilson and wife Beryl of Iberia; eight grandchildren, Vicki Arends, Chris McCrite, Berlin Whittle of Alaska, Dwight Whittle of Colorado, Ivory Wilson of Iberia, Deena Rowden of Iberia, Tanya Henson of St. Elizabeth, and Debra Nichols of Iberia; sixteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Charlie and Minzo Rowden and five sisters; Velma Machon, Ila Luttrell, Easter Luttrell, Gladys Alexander, and Emma Palmer.
Visitation will be held from 12:30 - 2:00 p.m., with services immediately following at 2:00 p.m., on Sunday, February 28, 2010, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Rev. Dennis Nichols will officiate. Interment will be in Brays Cemetery near Iberia. Memorial contributions are suggested to Brays Cemetery.
