Mr. Rowden was awarded the Purple Heart after he was wounded in Italy during World War II. A civil service employee in the motor pool at Fort Wood, he formerly farmed and worked at the Western Auto store in Iberia. Mr. Rowden had lived most of his life in Miller County. He was a
member of Smyrna Church of Christ in Maries County.
Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Kathy Nelson, Iberia; a son, Paul Rowden of the home; a brother, Charles Rowden, Dixon; six sisters, Mrs. Velma Machon and Mrs. Gladys Alexander, both of Dixon, Mrs. Emma Palmer of Tulsa, Okla., Mrs. Thelma Luttrell, Mrs. Easter Luttrell and Mrs. Ila
Luttrell, all of Iberia and one grandson.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today (Thursday) at the Stevinson Chapel in Iberia, with Bro. William Hensley officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery near Iberia, under direction of Stevinson Funeral Home of Iberia. Military graveside rites under direction of the Fort
