Caroline was a twin to brother William Gregg who died within his first year and is probably also buried in Wamsley Cemetery, no marker. Her parents also died the year she was born of the "black death," and were buried in a corner of Wamsley Cemetery removed from the other burials because of the reason for their deaths. She and her siblings then lived with their oldest sister Harriett and her husband John Dice, and later for a time before marriage she lived with her older sister Elizabeth and her husband John Alexander Smith.

Caroline's husband William Bradford was also a twin. They in turn had two sets of twins. William died at the age of 40 of an unknown illness for which he consulted a doctor in Kansas City. When William died, leaving Caroline with 5 young children, she sold the farm in Adams Township, purchased a house in Weatherby, and lived there the remainder of her life.
