Thresia Scheck, 94, Ellis, died Tuesday, April 14, 2009, at Ellis Good Samaritan Center. She was born March 13, 1915, in Rush County to John and Regina (Schuster) Augustine.
She married Andrew A. Scheck on June 12, 1934, in Victoria. He preceded her in death Feb. 3, 1985.
She was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Daughters of Isabella, AARP, Ellis Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and Eagle's Auxiliary of WaKeeney.
Survivors include a son, Donald Scheck, New Castle, Wyo., four daughters, Norma Brack, Shirley Gerhardt, Barbara Kinderknecht and Edna Hejny, all of Ellis; a brother, William Augustine, Ellis; two sisters, Dorothy Weber, Ellis, and Betty Younger, Hays; 24 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Gerald Lee and LeeRoy; five grandchildren; seven brothers; and a sister.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary Catholic Church, Ellis; burial in St. Mary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. today at Keithley Funeral Chapel, 400 E. 17th, Ellis, from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the church and from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. A vigil will be at 6:30 p.m. today at the church, followed by a Daughters of Isabella rosary.
Memorials are suggested to St. Mary Church or Masses in care of the funeral home.
