Ellis -- Paul P. Augustine, 78, Ellis, died Tuesday, Oct. 12, 1999 at Hays Medical Center.

Mr. Augustine was born Feb. 4, 1921 at Ellis.

He was a stockman and a carpenter. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Ellis, the Knights of Columbus Third and Fourth Degree and the Ellis VFW.

Survivors include his wife, Stella of the home; two sons, Melvin and Dean, both of Ellis; three daughters, Jean Brungardt of Wichita, Connie Cavett of Woodward, Okla., and Janice Home of Cookson, Okla.; two brothers William of Ellis and Johnny of Sauna; three sisters, Thresia Scheck, Dorothy Weber and Betty Jean Younger, all of Elis; 14 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Ellis, the Revs. Paulinus Karlin and Michael Suchnicki officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Church Cemetery, Ellis. A rosary and wake will be at 7:30 p.m. today at Wasinger Funeral Home, 400 E. 17th, Ellis 67637.

Memorials may be made to St. Mary’s Church painting and renovation fund. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m.
