Funeral services for Mrs. Onie Bell Alexander of Bragg City were held Saturday, October 10, 1970 at 2:00 p.m. at the Cooter Methodist Church.
Mrs. Alexander was born January 4, 1898, in Springfield, Mo., and died October 8, 1970 in the Pemiscot County Memorial Hospital in Hayti at the age of 72.
The daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. L.B. Wells, she was married to James Allie Alexander in Adamsville, Tenn., in 1913. Mr. Alexander preceded her in death in 1957. A son, Aaron Lee Alexander, also preceded her in death in 1953.
She leaves four sons, Adrian Alexander of Cooter, Floyd Alexander of Chicago, Boyce Alexander of Peoria, Ill., and Arnold Alexander of Chicago; three daughters: Mrs. Stanley Card of Steele, Mrs. Wilford Toland of Los Angeles, and Mrs. William Batony of Detroit, 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Interment was in the Mount Zion Cemetery in Steele with the Jimmy Osburn Funeral Home of Hayti in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were Gus Cooper, Paul Lynn, Richard Barger, Arnold Jones, Hal Rhea and Tom Burns.
