From the Rice County Journal:
A telegram announcing the death of Miss Ruby Edwards from appendicitis was received here Sunday afternoon, May 10. It was known that she was very sick and Mrs. Edwards had started Saturday to see her but did not reach her until after she was dead. It was thought that Miss Edwards was afflicted with consumption and that a change of climate would benefit her and so about a month ago she went to Wausau, Mich. However, the change did her no good. She was taken seriously ill only about a week before her death. Miss Edwards was very well known here and had a large circle of friends who are deeply pained to learn of her death.
