Funeral services for Mrs. C. J. Edwards, who passed away at St. Lucas hospital on Monday were held Wednesday, October 9, at the Parker Funeral Home at 3:15 p. m. with the Rev. E. D. Groenig, pastor of the Methodist church, officiating. Mrs. L. Johnson was soloist at the service, accompanied by Mrs. Groenig. The pallbearers were Dr. H. F. Eggleston, B. R. Korff, Harry Best, Dr. C. M. Robilliard, Benson Brown, and Ervin Lips.


Mrs. Candace Jane Edwards was born October 6, 1848, at Cleveland, Ohio, the daughter of Collins and Elizabeth Knowles Arnold. She grew to womanhood in Ohio. On June 1, 1881, she was united in marriage to Philo B. Edwards in Cleveland, Ohio. After their marriage they came to Prairieville where they made their home. Some years later they came to Faribault where the home has continued. Five children were born of Mr. and Mrs. Edwards, including Roy Charles of Hawthorn, Calif., Ruby Hope, deceased, Cora Lucy of Faribault, Jerry Collins of Peoria, Ill., and Ira S. Edwards of St. Louis Park. There are also eight grandchildren surviving. Mrs. Edwards was a member of the Methodist church, although in recent years she has not been able to attend services she kept in close touch with the activities of the church.
