T. G. Tarver, Former Aiken Banker Dies
Theodore Geddings Tarver, 67, formerly of Aiken, died of a heart attack at his hotel in Atlanta, Ga., Saturday morning, after he was stricken ill on a business trip.
Funeral services were conducted at Elliott Sons chapel Monday morning at 11 o'clock. Burial was in the Westover Cemetery.
Mr. Tarver was widely known in this section and was a former president of the Bank of Aiken. He was also a former cashier of the Augusta, Ga., branch of the Citizens and Southern National bank, and former vice president of the C and S bank in Macon, Ga. He owned the exclusive Massee apartment in Macon, Ga., and retired from business about 12 years ago.
He was a native of Hephzibah, Ga.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Edith Stokes Tarver; four daughters, Mrs. J. W. Thurmond, of North Augusta, Mrs. Walter Wallenburg of Granitville, Mrs. J. R. Dubose Jr., of Birmingham, Ala., and Mrs. C. H. Haynsworth of Greenville; 13 grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Cara Tannahill of Greenville, Mrs. Kate King, of Raleigh, N. C., and Mrs. Marion King of Oakland, Calif.
