His obituary from the Los Angeles Times 22 July 1955: DR. WALTER R. SCROGGS: Private services for Dr. Walter Reese Scroggs, 87, retired, will be conducted today in Pierce Bros. Hollywood Chapel, followed by inurnment in the Chapel of the Pines. Dr. Scroggs lived at 724 N. Ardmore Ave., and died Monday. He leaves a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Reese, and a son, Frank W. Scroggs.

(The obituary listed Chapel of the Pines which is in Los Angeles...I was very surprised to find he and his wife were in Colma...but they did live up there for many years)
