Jeff D. Pendleton, age 85 years, of Iberia, Mo., passed away Thursday, November 2, 1972 at the Charles E. Still Hospital in Jefferson City, Mo. Mr. Pendleton was born December 1, 1886 in Maries County near Van Cleve, Mo., the son of George and Rachel (Barnhart) Pendleton. He was married by Rev. Wes Sooter to Anna Machon, who preceded him in death in 1919. On July 5, 1926 he was married to Pansy Wilson, who survives.
Mr. Pendleton had formerly lived in the Dixon and Van Cleve areas. In May of 1966 he moved into Iberia from Maries County, where he had farmed. Mr. Pendleton was a member of the Iberia Assembly of God Church since 1966 and a former member of the Faith Tabernacle.
Surviving other than his wife, Pansy, are four sons, Earl Pendleton of Norfolk, Virginia, Orville and Charles Pendleton both of Dixon, and Ron Pendleton of Troy, Mo.; four daughters, Mrs. Viola Barnhart of St. Louis, Mo., Mrs. Rosa Woody of Iberia, Mrs. Jean Williams of Troy, Mo., and Mrs. Velma Williams of Hartford, Ill.; two brothers, Osby Pendleton of Tuscumbia, Mo., and Anton Pendleton of Venice, Florida; 27 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 4, 1972 at the Iberia Assembly of God Church with Reverend Wilford David officiating. Interment was in the Lawson Cemetery near Iberia under the direction of the Stevinson Funeral Home of Iberia. Pallbearers were Johnny Pendleton, Johnny Barnhart, Johnny Williams, Danny Pendleton, Mike Eads, Sammy Pendleton, Dale Pendleton and Gary Woody.
