Mr. Pendleton served in the U.S. Army during World War II and worked as a cook at the General Leonard Wood Army Hospital at Ft. Leonard Wood until his retirement. He attended the Iberia church of the Nazarene for more than 30 years. Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, John Earl Pendleton of Holts Summit; four daughters, Orvene Slone of Crocker, Nancy Siden of Dixon and Judy Dake and Jeanna Ash, both of Iberia; two brothers, Earl Pendleton of North Carolina and Charles Pendleton of Dixon; four sisters, Viola Barnhart of Kansas City, Rosa Woody of Iberia, Jean Williams of Troy, Mo., and Velma Williams of Sullivan; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Stevinson-Mossman Funeral Home in Iberia with the Rev. John Bouldrey and the Rev. Duncan Skiles officiating. Burial will be in Pendleton Cemetery near Meta. Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Friday.
