Frank Roetgerman, 87, formerly of 05233 Bensman Rd., Minster died Friday at 7:55 a.m. at St. Mary's District Memorial Hospital. He had been a patient at the Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Minster since July 1977.
He was born May 13, 1892, in Minster son of Anna (Senger) and Herman Roetgerman.
He is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Two brothers and four sisters are deceased.
Mr. Roetgerman, a retired farmer, was a member of St. Augustine's Catholic church in Minster, the Holy Name Society, and the St. Augustine's Orphan's society.
He was also a World War I veteran and a member of the American Legion Post 357, and Veterans of Foreign War Post 6432, both of Minster.
Services were held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the church with the Reverend Joseph Pax officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Hogenkamp funeral home, Minster, was in charge of the arrangements.
Frank's older brother Joseph died and his wife Minnie died just six short years later leaving their two teenage children orphans. The three youngest siblings, Bernard, Frank, and Bernadine, all unmarried, joined together to help raise their brother's children on the farm after their mother, Anna Senger Roetgerman died four years after her grandchildren's mother.
