Mrs. Marteil Breland, 88, of Leakesville, passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2015. She was a lifetime member of Sweetwater Missionary Baptist Church, where she was the church pianist for many years. She was a retired secretary with the Greene County Superintendent of Education. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She was very much loved and will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Robert Lee Breland; her daughter, Rebecca Hodges; son-in-law, Marshall Eubanks; parents, Sam and Stella Hillman; brothers, Horton, Tete, Todd, Tud, Jack, and Tennie Hillman.
She is survived by her sons, Wayne (Mary) Breland, Rayburn (Carrie) Breland, Jack (Stella) Breland; daughters, Garnet Eubanks and Lyndal (James) Ham; brother, French (Betty) Hillman; sister, Pal (Roy) Hicks; 21 granchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
A wake will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2015 from 6-9 pm at Freeman Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, September 20, 2015 at 3 pm with visitation beginning at 1pm at Sweetwater Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will be in the Sweetwater Cemetery with Bro.
