Brian Keith "B.K." Mosier, 52, of Parsons died at 3:15 p.m., Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer, however, his death was unexpected.



He was born on May 15, 1959 at Parsons to Bob and Barbara (Barnes) Mosier. He grew up at Parsons and attended Parsons Schools graduating from Parsons High School in 1977.



He briefly worked at Ankortite before going to work at the Katy Railroad in 1978 where he worked as a switchman for 34 years and where he was currently employed.



He and Karen Peters were married on July 28, 1979 at St. Mary's Catholic Church at Parsons. She survives of the home.



He shared a love of classic cars with his sons. They especially shared a love of a 1969 Chevy Camero that was owned by his son Derek. He loved hanging out at Blackburn Tire and Auto while "Talkin' cars". He enjoyed fishing and visiting with his friends while sharing stories over a cold beer. His greatest passion in life was his family and friends especially his grandchildren.



In addition to his wife he is survived by a son, Brad Mosier of Parsons; two grandchildren, Bradyn and Rayleiyn of Parsons; his mother, Barbara Mosier of Parsons; his brother, Kevin Mosier, and his wife, Debbie of Parsons, his sister-in-law, Sally Mosier of Parsons; his niece and nephews, Samantha Mosier, Ryan Mosier, and Matthew Mosier of Parsons.



He was preceded in death by a son, Derek Mosier, on February 26, 2009; his father, Bob Mosier, on August 29, 2003; three brothers, Greg Mosier on December 19, 2007 and twins, David and Dale Mosier on August 3, 1955, and a sister, Julie Anne Mosier, on February 17, 1985.



Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 24, 2012 at the Carson-Wall Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8 Friday evening. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society and these may be left at or mailed to the funeral home 112 N. 26th St., P.O. Box 942, Parsons, KS 67357.
