Lilly Mae Pavy

Lilly Mae Pavy, 73, of Alexander died Monday, March 8, 2004.

She and her husband, Jim Pavy, worked for years out west in the fruit fields. She came home to Arkansas to retire. She loved to sew, cook and garden. She loved music, and hosted events at which friends and family gathered to play music.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Jim; her parents, Albert and Christine Joslin; a brother, Roy Joslin; two sisters, Marjorie Brown and Gladys Warner.

Survivors include five sisters, Pat Whitlow of Tatum, Texas, Mary Abbott of Bauxite, Dovie Childress of Malvern, Wanda Rounsaville of Bauxite and Shirley Spears of Pine Bluff; three brothers, A. L. Joslin Jr. of Quitman, Paul Joslin of Alexander and James Joslin of Mabelvale; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Ashby Funeral Home. Burial will be in Forest Hills Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Eddie Jones, Ron Johnson, Michal Colony, John Runyan, Roy Joslin, Leon Joslin, Darrell Joslin, Dennis Joslin and Gerald Lody.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Family comments: Our dear sister and friend, Lilly Mae Pavy spent 73 years on this earth. Being one of the oldest of 12 children, she was a mother figure to all of us. Many will have the quilts she made to cherish. She leaves behind numerous friends and family to cherish her memory.
