Dovie Jean Childress, age 66, of Alexander, passed away Thursday, January 1, 2015. She was born March 16, 1948 in Lilbourn, Missouri. Mrs. Childress retired from Jacuzzi and attended West Bauxite Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert L. and Christine Joslin; husband, Bruce Childress; three brothers, Roy Joslin, Albert Joslin Jr. and Jim Joslin and three sisters, Marjorie Brown, Lillie Pavey and Gladys Warner.

She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Williams of DeValls Bluff; son, Michael Colony of Traskwood; step-son, Greg Childress of Florida; brother, Paul Joslin; four sisters, Pat Whitlow of Tatum, Texas, Mary Abbott of Bauxite, Wanda Rounsaville of Bauxite and Shirley Spears of Pine Bluff; seven grandchildren, Albert Rogers, Nicki Warner, B.J. Williams & Casey, Megan, Brennan and Breanna Colony and nine great-grandchildren, Lacey, Hayden, Asher, Enrique, Jacob, Nicky, Piper, Davion and Domonic.

Pallbearers will be Leon Joslin, B.J. Williams, Wayne Whitlow, Albert Rogers, Michael Colony and Casey Colony.Honorary Pallbearer;Max Skaggs.

Visitation will be 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, January 4 at Ashby Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 5 at Ashby Funeral Home with a 2:00 p.m. graveside service to follow at Kilgore Cemetery in Solgohachia/Birdtown.
