Mrs. Cordie June Matlock, age 59, of Colt, died Sunday, Dec. 22, 2002, at her home. Mrs. Matlock was born March 23, 1943, in Hunter, the daughter of Charles Shepherd and Rilla Ashburn Shepherd. She made her home in the Colt area for all of her life and was a housewife. Mrs. Matlock married J.W. Matlock in 1958 and he survives her along with four daughters, Annette Sherman of Brinkley, Sarah Moll of Morrilton, Teresa O'dell and Donna Stidham both of Colt, two sisters, Betty Shepherd of Forrest City, Louise Carter of Leola; seven brothers, Bud Shepherd and Jack Shepherd both of Florida, Ernest Shepherd and Don Shepherd both of Michigan, Glenn Shepherd of Ft. Smith, Larry Shepherd of Colt and Lonnie Shepherd of Forrest City; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Visitation services for Mrs. Matlock will be held on Monday, Dec. 23, 2002, at Stevens Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m.. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2002 at the Stevens Funeral Home Chapel at 2 p.m. Burial will follow in Loughridge Cemetery.
