William "Bill" C. Watts, of Desha died Thursday, February 23, 2012 at Rolling Hills Nursing Center.

Born December 4, 1922, at Bear Creek in Searcy County, Arkansas, he was the son of Rufus E. and Elizabeth J. Watts. He was a Tech Sergeant of World War II, a farmer, and a retired Bap
tist Minister after over 40 years of service.

Survivors include a daughter, Brenda Gayle Poff of Desha; 2 sons, Donnie R. Watts, Danny R. Watts both of Arizona; 5 sisters: Vel Foth, Evelyn Bates, Marcella Azamber, Carol Kinsey, all of California, and Runell Preston of Melbourne; 8 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Alice C. Myers Watts; his parents; a sister, Delta Lamon; 3 brothers, Ulis Watts, John R. Watts, Guy D. Watts; and a grandson.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 P.M. Monday at Lee's Chapel Cemetery at Sandtown with Travis Covington officiating.

Honorary pallbearers are Phillip Poff, George Welker, Wilford Emerson, Dr. James R. Harbin, and the brethren of the Desha United Methodist Church.

Visitation will be from 2:00 - 4:00 P.M., Sunday at Willis Funeral Service.
