Most of her life Anna was "Anna Marie" . Not sure why her grave marker is Anna Mara.

When Anna Marie PRATT Thorton was born on March 9, 1875, her father, George, was 34, and her mother, Olive, was 20. She grew up on a ranch referred to as "Zenda Ranch" with 2 brothers and 7 sisters and around other extended family members with an Irish father who was very strict and expected quiet around the dinner table, even with all those girls. She married William Thornton in Downey, Idaho in Oct 1898. They moved to Carlin Nevada. Her husband became a police officer and constable. They first had a son, George named for her dad, but he died around age 3. They had a daughter, Odetta and a son "Jefferson Castle"nicknamed "Doc" who was named for her grandfather "Jefferson Hunt" . One more child was born who died at age 1. Anna Marie died on October 24, 1935,at a hospital in in Elko, Nevada, at the age of 60 after an exploratory surgery on her stomach. Tests determined it was cancer.
