Survivors include his wife, Joyce Swanner, Weirsdale; son, James (Linda) Swanner, Camden, NC; daughters June (Moody) Munfrod, Suffolk, VA, Carole Davis, Chesapeake, VA, and Joyce (Tom) Ruhser, Denver, CO; stepdaughter, Kathie (Leon) Thompson, Hillsville, VA; stepson, Ralph (Gayle) Keating, Virginia Beach, VA; and many grandchildren.
No services will be held locally.

Henry L. Swanner, 93, Weirsdale, FL died Saturday,
February 18, 2012. He was born in Edenton, NC. He
was a shipyard owner.
Mr. Swanner began as a sharecropper with a fifth grade education. He developed and started a shipyard which employed hundreds of people. When he retired, he turned the company over to the employees. He loved the people he worked with, his friends and his family.
He was a very generous man and was loved by many.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years Joyce Swanner, Weirsdale; son James (Linda) Swanner, Camden, NC; daughters: June (Moody) Munford, Suffolk, VA; Carol Davis, Chesapeake, VA and Joyce (Tom) Ruhser, Denver, CO; stepdaughter Kathie (Leon) Thompson, Hillsville, VA; stepson Ralph (Gayle) Keating, Virginia Beach, VA; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
There will be no services held locally.
