Oden was b. 1783-1787 in North Carolina. Depending on the records you find, his name is spelled as Aden, Eden, & Edin.

He served in the War of 1812, enlisted 12-20-1813 Private, in Captain Thomas Eldridge's Company of Mounted men as Rangers service of Col. Peter Perkins, Battalion 7th Regiment Mississippi Territory Militia, Madison County. He was mustered out 2-8-1814.

He received from John Sevier 200 acres of land in Overton co.,TN, on the south side of Obed's River.

On 10-25-1814 in Madison Co. Alabama he married Mary Glover Rhead. He died shortly after marrying Mary. The inventory of his estate in Madison Co. was dated 1815. His brothers are listed as Lewis, Byrd (who is listed in the 1840 census of Madison Co.AL), Washington, Anderson Jr. and Jesse
