SSGT John F. Tollett arrived at Rhein Main Air Base, Germany, in 1968, after completing a tour in Vietnam. He was assigned to the 7310th Civil Engineering Squadron, and his AFSC (Air Force Speciality Code) was 55275 - Plumbing Supervisor. In addition, he was assigned to the squadron's Base Engineering Emergency Force Contingency Team, also known as a Prime Beef "C" Team. He deployed with the team twice, once to northern Germany, and a second time to Greece. On 8 Sep 1969, he had a heart attack and passed away. The squadron held a Memorial Service in his honor that afternoon. His family departed Germany on 9 Sep 1969, with an escort from the Plumbing Shop and Carpenter Shop.
