J. J. Milberger, Sr. Dies
John Jacob Milberger died at his home in south Russell, Wednesday, at noon. He had a bad cold which probably developed into pneumonia. This was complicated with asthma.
The deceased was born June 12, 1853 at Grimm, Russia, where he was married in 1875 to Amelia Weibert, who survives him. He came to America in 1878 and has since resided in Russell County. He had eight children, seven of whom are living, one boy having died in infancy. The children are: Mrs. Fred (Katherine) Keil of Galatia, Alex of Gorham, Mrs. David (Amelia) Dumler, Mrs. Henry (Christina) Brethauer, who lives in Colorado, Jacob, Mrs. Pauline Galyardt, Mrs. August Galyardt, all of Russell. He had twenty seven grandchildren, one brother, Karl Milberger and three sisters Katherine Karst (Middle name Margaret),
Mrs. Amelia Strecker, and Mrs. Elizabeth Dumler.
The funeral will be held Friday from the German Lutheran Church and will be conducted by the pastor, Rev. Ollendorf. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
