Mary "Polly" Gabbard, was the fifth child and fourth daughter of Michael and Elizabeth (Cundiff) Gabbard's nine known children. She married Charles Robinson, AKA John Robinson, Charles Robertson and Charlie Robertson the son of James R. and Margaret Burgess Robinson in (probably) Breathitt County, Kentucky in 1886. (Charles and his family members show up on documents throughout their lives with the both surname Robinson and Robertson. Charles' tombstone is Robertson while Polly's is Robinson.)They were the parents of these known children:

Charles was murdered in 1903 by Allen Creech, leaving Polly with nine children under the age of eighteen. She never remarried, and is listed as Head of Household on all census records through 1940. Per grandson, Gene Robinson via great-granddaughter, Lisa Ford: At the time of her death, she was living with her oldest son in Middleton, Ohio. She is buried between her second son, Robert, and grandson, Dickie in Hazard, Kentucky.
