Ernest Bradley Milligan was the eldest son of William Alexander & Cordelia Caroline (Myers) Milligan. He was born in or near the Swede's Flat area of Butte county. He moved with his family to Marysville about 1904 where his mother died in 1907. He worked as a truck driver for the Marysville Steam Laundry. He enlisted in the US Army during World War I and was first stationed at Camp Johnson in Jacksonville, FL in the 34th Regiment. He was assigned to the Motor Truck Co 423. He also served in France and returned home safely. Once home, he tried his hand as a photograper, merchant and salesman before his death.

Ernest Milligan Funeral is Held
- Funeral Services for Ernest Milligan who died at Westwood, were held at the Lipp & Sullivan chapel, 10 a.m. Saturday with Rev. D. Loyd Morgan officiating. Interment was in the Upham Cemetery. Pallbearers were George Gee, V. W. Cooley, H. N. Sheldon, Richard Hasche, R. A. Wasem and Ed Yeaton. Music for the services was provided by Mrs. Frank Rock, A. B. Gage and Mrs. Clarence Hull.
