There is also a tombstone for her in the Old Union Cemetery in Boone County but she is buried in the Vieley Cemetery.

The 1850 Census shows America Leek (age 3) living in Middle Township (which then included present day Union Township), Hendricks County, Indiana with parents Lawrence (age 33) and Amanda (age 25) and siblings Virginia (age 10), Henry B. (age 8), B. Franklin (age 7), George (age 5) and Emily (age 1). She married Thomas J. Nelson in Hendricks County on May 31, 1868.
