He was born January 25, 1916 in Kelsey, Texas, a son of Willie and Emma Elizabeth Dickinson McKnight.
He married Vivian Marthina Keeling on September 12, 1942 in Biloxi, Mississippi. The marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls, Idaho Temple.
Survivors include his wife of West Valley City; children: Thomas (Betty) McKnight, Leeds; Larry (Debbie) McKnight, West Valley City; Martha (Curt) Dowdle, Holladay; June McKnight, West Valley City; Bill (Lynne) McKnight, West Valley; Donna (Ron) Gedge, Sterling; David (Marianne) McKnight, Holladay; and Carolyn McKnight, West Valley City; twenty-seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and one brother and two sisters: Delbert (Colleen) McKnight, Gilmer, Texas; Erma (Welden) Green, Safford, Arizona; and Mamie Nay, Salt Lake City. He was preceded in death by one grandson, two brothers, and two sisters.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 26, 2001 in the Jordan North Fifth Ward Chapel, 3836 West 4100 South. Friends may call on Sunday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Redwood Memorial Estates, 6500 South Redwood Road (1700 West), and one hour prior to the services at the church.
Interment: Redwood Memorial Estates.
