Larry Jack McKnight, beloved son of Quanah E. and Vivian McKnight was called home after a long, courageous battle with cancer at the age of 76 on March 20, 2022.

Larry was born on June 23, 1945 in Biloxi, Mississippi. He graduated from Granger High School and joined the Utah National Guard at the age of 18. He worked at Tooele Army Depot until retirement in 1991. This is where he met the love of his life and best friend, Deborah Ann Stever. They were married on May 23, 1986.

Larry was an avid gardener. He grew the best tomatoes and always took pride in making sure that his yard was immaculate. He was recognized by West Valley City with a "yard of the year" award. He enjoyed fishing and being outdoors. He loved and adored his family and especially treasured all of his grandchildren. In his later years, Larry became a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His faith was strong and helped him to withstand the trial of his health adversities.

Larry is survived by his wife Deborah; children Crystal (Daren) Hymas, Christopher (Kasidi) McKnight, Denny Stever and Kevin Stever; grandchildren Serina, Kade, Dylan, Dalton, Zoie, Lila; great granddaughter Faeya; siblings Thomas (Betty), Martha (Curt) Dowdle, June Peay, William (Lynn), David (Marianne); many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters Donna McKnight Gedge and Carolyn McKnight.

A viewing will be held Thursday, March 24 from 6-8 pm at the Redwood Memorial Mortuary, 6500 S. Redwood Road. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 25, at 11 am at the Heritage Ward, 4634 Harman Drive, West Valley City. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the funeral.
