Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel in Carencro for Enola Ann Prather, age 80, the former Enola Prudhomme, who passed away Saturday, January 28, 2012 in Lafayette.

Interment will be in Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas. Perry Hubbs, pastor of First Baptist Church of Opelousas, will officiate at the services.

Musical selections will be provided by Valerie Andrus. The songs will be Amazing Grace, The Old Rugged Cross, and I Can Only Imagine.

Mrs. Prather was a native of Opelousas and a resident of Carencro. She was the owner of Prudhomme's Cajun Café and was very involved with the Lafayette Restaurant Association, as well as helping out the less fortunate in the community. Mrs. Prather was voted Woman of the Year in Louisiana by governor, Edwin Edwards. She authored three cookbooks and co-authored "The Prudhomme Family Cookbook". Mrs. Prather was a devoted mother, wife, and grandmother who loved her family and enjoyed life to the fullest. Through her cooking she fed more than appetites, she fed our souls. She was a parishioner of the First Baptist Church in Opelousas.

Survivors include two sons, Howard Ray Dugas, Sr. and his wife, Judy, of Vatican and Horace "Sonny" Aymond and his wife, Radonna, of Carencro; two daughters, Diane Broussard and her husband, Ike, of Lafayette and Annette Aymond of Carencro; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-four great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; two step-children, Todd Prather and Dodi Prather; and two brothers, Eli Prudhomme, Jr. of Opelousas and Paul Prudhomme and his wife, Katherine, of New Orleans.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Otha Shelton Prather; one daughter, Toni Traylor; her parents, Eli Prudhomme and the former Hazel Ann Reed, both natives of Opelousas; seven brothers, Elden Prudhomme, J.C. Prudhomme, Calvin Prudhomme, Malcolm Prudhomme, Able Prudhomme, Bob Prudhomme, and Ralph Prudhomme; two sisters, Darlee Broussard and Allie Fontenot.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 7:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. Monday and will continue from 7:00 a.m. until service time on Tuesday.
