My Mother:

Verona Julia Lula Louise Lawson Beheler was born April 1, 1919 in Lockhart, South Carolina, she died at her home, in Union South Carolina, August 28, 2002, with her children around her.
On April 2, 1938 she married Alton "Bo" Beheler.
She was a daughter of A.C. "Sugar Bill" and Mary Lillian Steen Lawson. She would always laugh and tell me that since she was the only daughter, her Mom named her after every one she knew.
Her mom died in 1932, so my Mom had to quit school to cook and clean house for her Dad and her brothers: Ed, Jim, Bill & the youngest Fred, almost six years old. (Her other brother, Howard died Nov. 24, 1926.)
She worked in the spinning room at Union Mill until right before I was born. Daddy told her, he didn't want her to work in the mill any more, he wanted her to stay home and take care of us.
We was raised in a three room house, but we had the best Mom and Dad. I wouldn't trade my parents for anyone. We never knew we was poor, we had love, that money can't buy.

Children of Alton and Verona Beheler:
Sarah Beheler Tollison
Alton Earl Beheler
Jimmy Beheler Sr.
Ralph Beheler
Margaret Beheler Ham
Lillian Beheler Shrader
Stephen Beheler Sr.
Billy Beheler

Thank you Sweet Sue for sponsoring Momma's memorial, may God bless you and your family.

Thanks to all for the kind words and 'gifts' left for Momma.

Don't think of her as gone away;
Her journey's just begun.
Life holds so many facets;
This life is only one.
Just think of her as resting
From the sorrow and the tears
In a place of warmth and comfort
Where there are no days and years.
Think how much she must be wishing
That we could know today
Now nothing but our sadness
Can really pass away.
And think of her as living
In the hearts of those she touched
For nothing loved is ever lost
And she is loved so much.
