Ruth M. Huddleston, 84, died Sunday, Jan. 15, 2012, at the Thermopolis Rehabilitation and Care Center, where she resided the past two years.

One of nine children, Ruth was born Nov. 12, 1927, in Rawlins County, Mirage, Kan., the daughter of Ernest and Stella (Kesselring) Pittaway. She grew up in Beloit, Kan.

Ruth married David Huddleston on March 28, 1946, in Mountain Home, Ark. Shortly thereafter, the couple moved to Rawlins, then to Thermopolis in the late 1960s. Nine children were born to this union.

A member of the Baptist Church, Ruth enjoyed crocheting, sewing, reading, cooking and gardening. After living at the Valley View Retirement Center in Saratoga, she moved to
Thermopolis in 2009 to be closer to her granddaughter, Kurstin Turnbaugh.

Survivors include her husband of 64 years, presently residing at a retirement facility in Rawlins; sons, Claude and Clyde; daughters, Esther Sharp, Aleen Huddleston, Sandra Duran and Barbara Huddleston; brother, Clinton; sisters, Evelyn and Adella; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents; children, Ruth Sellars and Bonnie Wolfe; and brothers, Phillip, Benjamin, Claude, Joseph and Robert.

Cremation has taken place.
