Mr. Pittaway married Dee Colburn February 21, 1953 in Washington, D.C. He worked for Mack Truck in Washington, D.C. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1950 and received the Purple Heart, Korean Service Medal and the Combat Infantry Badge during the Korean War. He retired from the United States Army Reserves in 1980 as a CWO 4.
Mr. Pittaway is survived by his wife: Dee Pittaway of the home, a son: Brian Alan Pittaway and wife Andrea of Kennelworth, Maryland, a daughter: Gail Diana Pittaway of Silver Spring, Maryland, three sisters: Ruth Huddelston and husband David of Saratoga, Wyoming, Evelyn Hensley of Mountain Home, Arkansas and Adella Dotson of Kansas City, Missouri, two brothers: Walter H. Pittaway and wife Lavaun of Mountain Home, Arkansas and Clinton P. Pittaway and wife Peggy of Harrison, Arkansas and a host of nieces and nephews . He was preceded in death by four brothers.
Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at Reed's Grove Cemetery in Mountain Home with Brother Calvin Walker officiating. A visitation will be Tuesday from Noon – 9:00 with the family receiving friends form 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Roller Funeral Home.
