Walter Harry Pittaway, age 88, of Mountain Home, Arkansas passed away Tuesday, October 21, 2014, at his residence. He was born February 23, 1926, in Colby, Kansas to Ernest and Stella (Kesselring) Pittaway.

Mr. Pittaway married Lavaun M. Hensley June 6, 1953, in Mountain Home, Arkansas. He served in the United States Army during WWII in the Pacific Theater and played a major role in the Invasion of Okinawa achieving the rank of Sergeant. He was a lifetime carpenter and master cabinet maker. He was a member of the Walker Road Church of Christ and the Mountain Home VFW Post 3246.

Mr. Pittaway is survived by his wife Lavaun Pittaway of Mountain Home, two sons Walter Patrick Pittaway and wife Vicky of Mountain Home and Roger Pittaway and wife Dawn of Gainesville, a daughter Kathleen Lewis and husband Kevin of Mountain Home, a brother Clinton Pittaway and wife Peggy of Bergman, seven grandchildren Walter Waylon Pittaway, Jasmine Popp and husband Jeremy, Amelia Pittaway, Travis Baker and wife Dana, Lucas Pittaway and wife Kyra, Landon Pittaway and wife Jamie and Abby Pittaway, twelve great grandchildren Walter Anthony, Brenan, Caitlyn and Marika Pittaway, Montana, Dyllon and Lani Popp, Trinity Bolding, Aubren, Dakota, Ashton and Sophia Baker, many nieces and nephews and a faithful companion Babe.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and three sisters.

A funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 28, 2014, at Roller Funeral Home with Brother Pat Mannon officiating. A visitation will be on Monday from Noon - 9:00 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Reed’s Grove Cemetery.

Arrangements are by Roller Funeral Home.
