George grew up and went to school around Sparta. He married Bessie Marie Scott April 12, 1940 and had five children residing in Flat Creek, Grant County, Ky. He was an avid fox hunter and owned several registered hunting dogs until his health deteriorated. George retired from Stewart Iron Works as a steel laborer after 28 years. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife; along with two sons, Douglas Moore and Timmy Moore.
He was survived at the time of his passing by two daughters, Wanda (William) Wells of West Columbia, South Carolina and Shirley (Roy) Bowling of Erlanger; one son, Jerry (Crystal) Moore of Augusta, Georgia; granddaughter's, Tonya Wells and Kristen Moore; grandson's, William Wells Jr. and Justin Moore; two sisters, Mable Mabes and Gladys Cobb of Latonia; and one brother, Carl Moore of Latonia.
