Born at home, in Zion Station, Ky., Shirley went on to spend her youth in rural Grant County. She married Roy near the end of her senior year in high school and after graduating, settled in Latonia, Ky. She worked for several years at Fifth Third Bank before moving onto the Internal Revenue Service, where she eventually retired. Shirley was a member of Ashland Baptist Church in Latonia. She enjoyed reading and her many trips to the ocean at Myrtle Beach throughout the years. She is survived by her brother, Jerry (Crystal) Moore of Augusta, Georgia and adopted daughter, Donna Bowling of Covington, Ky. Her husband, Roy preceded her in passing in 2004 after 39 years of marriage.
