Funeral services for Alvin Abbott, 40, will be held this morning at 10 o'clock at the Reeves-Dow funeral home with Rev. Paul Textor officiating.
Mr. Abbott died Sunday at the Hand Hospital, Shenandoah, Iowa after a prolonged illness.
He is survived by his wife, Darlene; two brothers, Jesse of Red Oak, Iowa and Robert of Union, Nebraska; one sister, Isabelle Biggart of Sioux City, Iowa; and his mother, Mrs. Henry Shepherd of Sioux City, Iowa.

Alvin Abbott, 14, of the State Home for dependent children, received fractures of both bones of the left arm and both bones of the left leg when he was thrown from a horse in the pasture at the farm home two miles northeast of Bethany Saturday afternoon. He was take to the Brea Memorial hospital where the fractures were attended by Dr. Fritz Teal.
