Laura Probst Nelson, age 87, of Provo, died December 26, 1992.
She was born March 27, 1905 in Midway, Utah, a daughter of John Ulrich and Susana Gertsch Probst. She married Verne S. Nelson on August 1, 1932 in Hammond, Indiana. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. After their marriage they resided in St. Joseph, Michigan, before moving to Provo where they have resided since.
She attended Midway Elementary School and graduated from Wasatch High School in Heber City. She attended and graduated from the LDS School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse. She worked at Utah Valley Hospital and at the Dispensary for Geneva Steel. She retired after 20 years at Geneva. She was active in the LDS Church, serving in the Primary and Relief Society Presidencies, Sunday School teacher, and MIA attendance secretary. She has worked with her husband in the Provo Temple for many years. She was a member of the Acacia Club.
She is survived by her husband, of Provo; two sons and one daughter: Allan R. Nelson, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Leon (Sue) Hurst, Provo; Ronald V. Nelson, Salt Lake City; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers and two sisters; David Probst, Owen Probst, Midway, Utah; Geneva Cook, Cedar Valley, Utah; Ruby Rex, Salt Lake City.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 29, 1992 at 11 a.m. in the Pioneer Park Ward, Provo. Interment, Provo, City Cemetery.
