Madora Genevra "Dora" Spaulding was the daughter of Lyman Spaulding and Olive Malissa Beach.

She married Irving Spitzer on 15 December 1874. They divorced on 16 February 1896. Irving was the son the Garret B. and Lucy A. Spitzer. Garret was born in 1820, in New York and died in 1891. Lucy was born in 1826, New York, and died in 1893. Both are buried in the Lakeview Cemetery at Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. In 1860 Garret and Lucy were living in Milford, Jefferson County, Wisconsin. He was a farmer.

In 1880, Medora and her son Elsa B. Spitzer, were living with Garret and Lucy Spitzer. Elsa was born in April of 1878. In 1900, Medora and her children Else and Olive L. Spitzer are living on 25 Whitewater Avenue, in Fort Atkinson. Olive L. Spitzer was born in January of 1883.

In 1910, Medora is shown twice in the Census records. She is shown living alone in Fort Atkinson, divorced and a mother of two children, and both are living. Her occupation is listed as a nurse. Medora is listed at the Alta Curtis residence, as a nurse, at 409 Jefferson Street, in Fort Atkinson. Medora is not shown in the 1920 Census records. However, her son, Elsa B. Spitzer is as living on 508 South High Street, in Fort Atkinson. His wife is Agnes, age 37, and daughter Eva, age 12. His occupation is listed as a butcher.

In 1910 a marriage license was issued for Walter G. Bilstad of Cambridge, Wisconsin and Dora Spitzer of Fort Atkinson.

In 1930 Medora was living at 512 Whitewater Avenue in Fort Atkinson, with Eva Spitzer, her granddaughter. Eva was born in about 1909 in Wisconsin.

The children of Medora Spaulding and Irving Spitzer were:
1. Elza Borel Spitzer (1878-1953) (Agnes C. Masters)
2. Olive L. Spitzer (1883-1969) (Ernest M. Persons)
