Lyman married Olive Malissa Beach on February 27, 1850 at either Stockbridge or Hamilton, Madison County, New York.

Their six children were:

1 John Lyman (Sarah "Eva" Abbott)
2 Medora Geneva "Dora" (Irving Spitzer)
3 Ira B. (Nettie Strickland)
4 Margaret Olive (Levi Hake)
5 Martha Rosel (died age 3)
6 Joseph Burton (Anna Marguerette Christianson)

While I am not certain Lyman is buried in this cemetery it seems likely as he is said to have died in Elwood. A marker for him has not been found.
